Studies Have Found That Covid-19 Affects My Ability To Post Blogs On Time.....Or Ever!

As I reach back into my photo archives to keep myself busy I continue to hear the same movie quote sprinting through my mind. “Stay on Target! Stay on Target!” If you don’t know the accompanying movie quote I urge you to stop what you’re doing and add some culture to your life by watching Star Wars IV A New Hope. Once you have finished educating yourself then by all means continue reading my blog about the time I photographed these three beauties showcasing some first class New Orleans talent and their designs!

Welcome back! A while back, or you might even say, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away I was asked to lend my photography chops to help showcase the fashion designs of my friend Romey Roe. Romey is a stellar clothing designer from New Orleans whose work was being highlighted at Essence Festival. Romey’s custom made clothing was accompanied by one of a kind accessories made by Hale Stewart Jewelry.

Having a small shop full of videographers, stylists and models isn’t exactly the ideal setting especially for my ease of movement. So to work around this I made an on the spot decision to have the models lay down in the jewelry displays, which were filled with black sand, and I then climbed a ladder that straddled them and took the photos from above them. Not only did the models perform professionally in what could only be described as uncomfortable condition, I didn’t fall from the ladder and hurt them. Hey! Small victories are still victories. I wouldn’t equate the victory to being the kid that destroys the Death Star but if I could I would’ve handed out medals to all the creative parties involved. To include Wookies.

Editor’s note - There were no Wookies on set. Only Rebel Scum!
